Ah, what a trip! Check out Hotel Ganges View if you end up in Varanasi -- the dinners are homecooked and just amazing. And if you want to get away from it all in Bangkok, the Thai House was a beautiful, peaceful place to stay, um, 15 years ago. I even took a day of Thai cooking classes there.
